It's application to Business Development (BD) is very strong.
So many rainmakers I know had a time in their life where they said "I didn't become a ___ to sell."
But...once they reframed BD as HELPING, things started to change.
- Want to get better at BD? Make it a passion.
- Want to make BD a passion? Make it a habit.
- Want to make BD a habit? Do one thing a day that helps a prospect.
It's really not much harder than that. Helping people is enjoyable.
Help someone who isn't a client (yet!) daily for a few weeks, and you'll start to love BD.
To better pursue your passion, challenge your assumption that passion is something to be discovered. Focus on actively developing a passion instead.
